Who We Are
Barrier Capital Management is a minority-owned emerging manager based in San Francisco. We manage a concentrated equities strategy and seek to deliver long-term capital appreciation by focusing on global technology, media, telecommunications (“TMT”) and consumer companies. Our fundamental, bottoms-up research approach has been designed to help us identify investments that we believe are trading substantially below their intrinsic value.
Contrarian Investments
We believe superior returns come from being materially different than the market. We will generally target equities that are out of favor or misunderstood, where we have a clearly articulated variant view on the long-term evolution of the business.
Long Term Potential
We generally look for investments that we think will be winners on a 3-5+ year horizon. We focus much of our research on assessing the long-run earnings power of a business. We are willing to be patient and let a compelling investment realize its full potential.
Conviction & Concentration
Most stocks, most of the time, do not offer extraordinary risk/reward profiles. Our investment process is focused on developing conviction, which allows us to run a concentrated portfolio. We will not hesitate to hold large positions when exceptional opportunities arise.
